Learn to highlight your skills can open doors in the labor market. A curriculum tailored to the needs of the company can secure a personal interview.
The first objective of introducing the curriculum and a business is to get a job. This is coming on the employer as a suitable candidate for the position you are applying, showing the best person for the job. At the time of writing, you think you’re a “salable service” and that the resume is your shop window.
Your resume is a business card of your job profile, which should reflect your education and your professional experience.
Curriculum as
The key to know who will run your curriculum and what are the needs of those who will receive. Each job offer is different, and no business is like another, so your CV should be drafted according to the requirements demanded by the employer.
The most convenient is to enhance aspects of your training or qualities that best fit the profile you are looking for the company. But the eye, do not be dazzled by enthusiasm or desire to obtain employment. Nothing to lie or “fatten the curriculum.” That will only serve to throw stones at your roof. Nobody will offer you a salary for nothing, and sooner or later have to prove your skills. A beginner is a beginner, but nobody like a liar on the payroll.
The aim is to provide an accurate picture of who you are and do not underestimate you. Surely you have more experience from which to think. Reflect on your participation in group projects, courses, seminars or conferences, presentations, research, publications, study trips in Spain or abroad, student associations, cultural, sporting, social … If you have any pre-professional experience, considers the lessons that you get from it. Perhaps you feel aspects of your career outside of the job you want to achieve. However, they may give idea of your concerns, your pro or your abilities.
At the time of writing the curriculum, you must select the most appropriate information. Are they essential? Are they relevant to the job I want? Do you serve my goal of getting an interview? Once selected the content you must find the best way forward.
Timelines
Reporting from the oldest to the most recent. The main advantage of this format is that it highlights the evolution of the candidate. Highlights the upward trend in your career and certainly serve as a pattern for your personal interview. The disadvantages are that perhaps the first experiments are immaterial, and that if there are gaps in time did not pass unnoticed.
A chronological resume might be useful if
-Your career has progressed in a logical order and coherent. – You had little, with very similar functions. – Want to keep your line of work.
Reverse chronological order
This presentation is perhaps the most common. Is to start providing the latest data. Thus, it will highlight your recent experience, which will surely be the most important and most relevant to the employer.
In any case, you should keep in mind that your resume is not your autobiography. Must be comprehensive, clear and concise, and occupy a maximum of two pages. Synthesizing the work of the coach facilitates and not missing a detail ensures a proper assessment of your career and potential.
Let “rest” your resume before you submit it. With a little perspective will get one more set to showcase the reality to be designed in a hurry.
Do not forget that the person reading your resume will have many more on the table. Try to “hook” to help find what you are looking for. In a first screen, then only ojeará content. If you discover an interesting fact there will be no second reading.
Take your time, take advantage of this opportunity to convey a good image of yourself.
