OECD On-line “Light” of education

A platform for online collaboration to share knowledge and exchange on issues of education, called educationtoday was launched by the OECD last week. The organization says that the launch was part of its campaign to help governments and other stakeholders to respond to the global economic crisis.
In a statement, the OECD said that the “Lighthouse of education was designed to inform educators and other stakeholders on latest developments in the education sector. The fact is that what began as a financial and economic crisis is becoming a social crisis.
“The education sector is already feeling the impact of budget cuts and is likely to deepen,” said education director of the OECD Barbara Ischinger. “At the same time, however, education is Part of the solution.
